St George's College 2nd XI broke the record for the largest win by beating Lord Wandsworth College 8-1 in their home friendly encounter.
Captained by Cormac Brown as Leon Allos dropped to the bench, St George's started the game in lively fashion as Ed Morrison, Marco Rolandelli and Tom Mason all came close within the first ten minutes. The deadlock was broken, however, when Morrison struck in the thirteenth minute and he added a second moments later. Rolandelli was the next to find the target as St George's finally found some rhythm after a run of unlucky results and Morrison completed his hat-trick in the 19th minute of the game. Lord Wandsworth then decided to get in on the action and went close twice before half time.

Ususal captain Leon Allos was brought on before half time and he gave St George's even more energy in the midfield, creating Morrison's fourth goal after Ian Richardson, who now has 1 goal and 2 assists from 60 minutes this season, scored his goal and St George's went 6-0 up.

At this point the record was in sight. Two goals were needed from fifteen minutes although Lord Wandsworth had other ideas. Despite the result of the game being decided, they commendably fought until the end and were rewarded when Andrei Belonogoff, who up until that point, had had a great game, turned the ball into his own net.

Jamie Orr then went on the hunt for that record and was well supported by Richardson and Tom Mason, as he scored twice within the last five minutes to clinch the record for a very strong St George's team.

All seventeen players used by St George's thouroughly deserved the win and hopefully it will put them back on track ready for a match against RGS Guildford in two week's time.
