Away league match

This was a very open game from the start. Early chances did go to Springhead with Hudson pulling off a great save early in the game. The chances came and went for both teams but the defensive work from both teams kept the scoreline down.

Springhead took the first opportunity with a strong run from the right saw the winger cut in and lay the chance on a a plate.

Sproatley battled back well with Taylor and Havler hitting the near post. With fifteen minutes of the first half remaining Sproatley were awarded a penalty which was firmly finished by Herbison.

Sproatley had some good chances early in the second half which could have made the scoreline so different had just one been taken. It was however Springhead who took their next chance to retake the lead. The game continued to be end to end but Springheads keeper wasn't making anything easy for the attacking Sproatley players and it was Springhead who took their chances to finish 4-1 winners. It was though a very good performance with some great football played. Now onto Costello for the 1st Round of the East Riding Cup, and as with all cup matches this season, this will be a Nandos bonus game!!
