Rolls Royce returned to the Rec confident they would brush us aside & progress to the next round easily.
That was far from the case, each and every player gave everything as we pushed the league leaders all the way.
0-0 at full time and with not much separating the sides the game could of gone either way, into extra time we went and Rolls Royce raced into a 2 goal lead. Usually that would spell the end for us but for some reason heads didn't drop and we kept fighting. At half time in extra time and 2-0 down Brandon decided he'd had enough in goal and asked to be put up front to see if his fresh legs would make a difference and by god it did, he caused mayhem and with 2 goals from JJ we were soon level. We could of even snatched a winner but it wasn't meant to be so we headed into the dreaded penalty shootout!
Its a sad was to lose any cup game and it takes great courage to step up and take one, unfortunately they never missed one and it was left to Zac to have his saved and so we lost 7-6!!
It was a great team performance in a new 4-4-3 formation that I think will propel us up the league table once we start to play our games in hand.
