Great Performance - Undeserved Draw

We started well by playing James down the wing who crossed in, their defender fumbled it and it fell to my feet. After getting out from the long grass i tucked the ball past the keeper only for it ping off the inside of the post and the defender cleared it off the line. The teams traded long throws, which we dealt with fine, but they struggled a bit more with; leading to a few scrambles in the box. The incessant throw in's were interupted by me being played through with the freedom of the half to run into, only to have a heavy touch punished by the keeper who came off his line well. I managed to get the ball back in the area to be kicked in the back of the leg. Unfortunately Chris missed it so no pen. More throw ins. More crosses from James who has given their left back PTSD. One cross landed plum on my head, i put it in the bottom corner only for the keeper to stretch out a hand and keep it out! We had quite a few corners that caused them trouble but didnt get the final touch to goal.

The second half was even better, James had reduced their left back to a withering husk of man by beating him for the 700th time. More crosses in, one was missed by me (again!), we peppered them with shots, crosses, free kicks. But their keeper kept them all out. The goal eventualluy came from a cross by James (quelle surprise) tucked away confidently by mike. 10 Mins to go. Keep it simple. Keep it safe.

Unfortunately, we attempted to overplay it in our own area and gave them the ball which they gratefully tapped in. With only a few minutes to go, we didnt have time to get a winner and the game ended in a draw.

Obviously James was man of the match. I've had a message from Racing Mouse's captain and unfortunately their left back has a terrible case of twisted blood. Hes dead now.
