Back To Winning Ways

We started well and NCSF looked very hesitant at the back. We pounced on a few loose touches from their defenders and got some crosses into the box, but to no avail. NCSF started to get the better of us in midfield. They played the short passing game better than us on a small pitch and did put us under pressure. But we always looked dangerous when we got the balls into the channels and from corners/Ashouri throws. An Ashouri throw went over everyone to find me free at the back post, but showing an unprecedented level of showmanship and composure, I flicked the ball onto the crossbar right onto Keysey's head. Unselfish play I'm sure you'll agree. . The rest of the half was quite sloppy from us to be honest and NCSF put us under pressure with corners and throw ins of their own, but didn't create any stand out opportunities. The back 5 were calm and in control throughout. Ben Lang came on at half time to try to get us playing the ball around a bit more. But the second half continued how the first ended; constant pressure and being held in our own half. That was until Caton played a lovely pass into Ashouri's path, for him to lob the on rushing keeper perfectly. The ball seemed to be in the air for an age, and I was worried their full back was going to block it, so I just made sure and nodded it in. This goal seemed to kill them and we really lifted our game. Shortly after we won a penalty, but missed it. We had a legitimate goal ruled out because of reasons? Then another Ashouri throw found Keysey's head (no help required from me this time) and he nodded home. Another disallowed goal before the end for offside, even though Calum was deep in his own half. We saw the game out comfortably. Great game and result, stopped the rot, got some goals, clean sheet and all without really playing our best. More to come from us for sure.
