Home league match

A good game of football between to equal sides that have not lost in the opening two games, SMS took the game to imperial early doors and created various opportunities but the run of the green was not with them Imperial defended well and looked to hit SMS on the break and against run of play a good save from martin saw the ball fall out to their striker and with SMS on their back heals they finished well at half tie SMS come in wondering how they were 1-0 down.

The 2nd half again SMS started brightly and on 50 minutes schulz found him self one on one with the keeper and was able to draw a foul and gain a pen which he dispatched with ease 1-1 and game on....... 5 mins later a corner for Imperial found Kyle for SMS trying to clear only to put in his own net unfortunate but these things happen, 5 mins later another horror mistake saw the SMS defence in problems allowing their striker to finish from 25 yards after a total mix up.... SMS now felt sorry for themselves and for 15 mins Imperial were dominant taking advantage of the confusion in the SMS ranks this brought the best out of Keeper Martin James who to be totally honest kept SMS in the game with a couple of fine saves with 5 mins to go Imperial gifted a back pass to Schulz who took his chance well rounding the keeper and slotting home, in the last minutes SMS pushed hard and had chances with Schulz going close and a thunder shot from Webster bringing a fine save

Overall disappointed with loosing the game but plenty of positives to look at with the chances being created if only we could cut out the silly mistakes............

SMS player of the Match was Captain Russell Keen who did well to keep the team going for the duration a good captains performance.....
