FC Langford 2 vs 7 Sinclair United

<p>Sinclair United got their division one campaign back up and running with a convincing 7-2 win at FC Langford.

<p>

<p>Three first half goals seemingly had Steve Nash's side in control and after Josh Nash added a fourth five minutes into the second half and Jason Pritchard grabbed his side's fifth the game already looked over.

<p>

<p>But as two quick fire goals from Langford set up a nervy finish, Pritchard netted his second and Jamie Grant came off the bench to round off the scoring and give the away side their first three points of the season.

<p>Centre back Adam Timms made an unlikely appearance in goal due to the absence of regular keeper Toby Jones but he was a spectator for the first 30 minutes as United began the game strongly with slick passing on a warm summer's day.

<p>And following added pressure after a succession of corners, United deservedly took the lead.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">After some good work from Jack Kettle inside the ball, his pass was met by Nathan Lee and he swept the ball into the far corner.

<p>

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">The early goal was the start of a dominant spell for United as the home side could not cope with the United's fast attacking play down the flanks. And the visitors were to double their lead after putting pressure on Langford's defence.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">A loose ball back to the keeper was picked up by Luke Butterworth and he calmly slotted past the keeper.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">An unfortunate injury to Kettle forced the United boss to run the changes and after bringing in Jamie Raitt at right back and put Ben Riley with Karl Woodcock in the middle the away side starting to start up a gear.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">And it was Woodcock who added his side's third goal with a great finish. A swinging corner from Lee was met by the midfielder who took it down brilliantly before unleashing a fierce volley into the top corner.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">It could have been four without reply in the first half as a great ball into the box from Lee was met by the unmarked Butterworth. But with the ball rising the striker was unable to bring the ball down and his shot went over the bar.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">The United boss warned his side against complacency and he got the perfect response minutes into the second half.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">With their first attack down the left Pritchard fed it through to Nash and despite seeing his first effort blocked, he made no mistake at the second attempt as his low drive flew into the far corner.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">And it was Pritchard who got in on the scoring following some more good work down the right flank with Lee and Riley. The skipper's cross left the keeper stranded but as it bounced off the crossbar Pritchard had the easy task of putting the ball in the empty net.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">The introduction of Grant added some extra pace up front and he very nearly had the perfect introduction. A good ball down the left saw the striker burst into the box and with only the keeper to beat his shot was palmed away for a corner.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">The fifth goal surely meant the game was over but as United leg's began to tire Langford managed to get back into the game. Following a move down the left the ball was switched across to the right and saw the ball bundled into the corner.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">And Langford got their second goal of the game when the ball fell into the middle and as the Langford midfielder bore down on goal his delicate chip managed to go over Timms in goal and into the back of the net.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">But any hopes of a Langford comeback were quickly quashed as Pritchard grabbed his second of the game. Following good work from Nash his chipped ball over the top was met by the midfielder and he coolly lifted the ball over the keeper to restore United's four-goal lead.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">There was still time for Grant to finish off the scoring as after some good work from Nash again, his through ball was met by the lively striker and he rifled the ball home to cap a dominant away day.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">The United boss will have been frustrated with his side at conceding two sloppy goals but would have been left happy with his side's display after last week's disappointment.

<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">United face a difficult test next week when they host Wroxton Sports at Hanwell Fields.
