Tonight the ladies played our first home pre-season friendly against Penn Mill Reserves. We started with a number of changes from our starting line up against Broadstone, bringing Easto into the back 3 and Kellie and Katie into the midfield. We started a little slow, but after 5 - 10 mins everyone had warmed up into the game and was ready and raring to go. 13 mins in, Kellie made a great run down the line to assist Katie H to score the opening goal. Shortly after Katie then went onto score another (15th min) after a great assist from Ali. Some more great play across the pitch both defensively and moving forwards led to Katie scoring (23rd min) a hat-trick on her debut game!!!
Being 3-0 up the team naturally started to relax and Penn Mill caught on to this and managed to score 2 goals in the 30th and 33rd min. However, after making some changes we fought back hard and in the 35th min Jordan played a great cross into Ali who hit the back of the net. After an eventful first half with free-kicks awarded to both teams, it was looking like it would be a 4-2 half time. Until Ali went on to cross the ball into Alisha who casually beat the keeper to score (42nd min).

We started the second half how we ended the first half, sitting strong and attacking forwards. With several players having shots on goal including, Georgia, Jordan and Emma, we knew a goal was due soon. and in the 55th minute it came from a stormer of a shot, just inside the half way line, from Easto! Our options and opportunities continued through the rest of the half, with the keepers from both teams making some cracking saves. Penn mill went on to score their final goal in the 80th minute. However, yet again we reacted to this and in the 85th and 89th minute Ali managed to hit the back of the net to get her first hat-trick!!
