vs South Coast Athletico First
Away league match
With only 2 points splitting these two sides in the table, the stage was set for a real contest. What a game it was.
Athletico were dominant from kick off. They were fired up and gaining a majority of possession. It took 20 minutes for their strong start to give reward with a good headed goal from a wide cross in the danger area. Poor positioning from the Arrows and they couldn’t seem to settle into the game.
Things went from bad to worse for the Arrows conceding another two goals by the 35’, both being own goals.
With 10 minutes remaining of the first half, it was the first time Pass & Move looked like they could threaten the South Coast defence. Substitute Pip Hatch came on and did what he does best, score goals. Ross Williams received a wonderful pass from the back and laid himself through with a superb touch that opened the defence. One on one, the keeper saved and Hatch sealed the rebound to make it 3-1.
Finally the Arrows brought life to the game.
2nd half, and it was like watching a different game. The tables had turned. Pass & Move looked threatening on every attack.
56’ and South Coast Keeper made two great saves but couldn’t prevent the 3rd rebound from Pip Hatch to score his brace and make it 3-2.
Frazer Discala, who was instrumental in the centre midfield was deservedly rewarded with an equaliser that he hit from outside the box, out of reach from the keeper. Great finish.
Confidence high, the Arrows knew it was theirs to lose. 79’ and keeper, Holland plays a long kick down the left for Paige, who made a pressing run to lob the keeper with a header. Great bravery and was a real menace for the South Coast defence the whole game.
Skipper, Ross Williams who had an outstanding display all game was put through from substitute Brad Pearse, and this time made no mistake with his one on one and smashed it home. A huge celebration from the team and rightly so.
Debut for Toby Stace who was solid at right back and won all his battles.
Debut start for youngster Callum Brand who again gave huge impact in the game, especially with his intelligent pressing for the final goal.
