Home league match
After losing by a very close margin (3-2) in the last meeting with Rye, it was a chance to gain revenge and settle the difference.
Unfortunately, it didn’t start that way. Arrows, for the second week in a row found themselves 2 goals down very early on. Connor Holland forced to make more saves to keep the score line at just 2 down. Arrows stunned and frustrated, worked tirelessly to put things right.
Frazer Discala came close with a powerful low drive at goal but was then fouled. Penalty. With Frazer having to receive treatment, the ref wouldn’t allow him to take the spot kick. Up stepped JonJo, who placed it well to the keepers right, but saw it saved.
Second half and it was Rye’s turn from the penalty spot. Connor, made a great save to give hope for the Arrows.
Some well worked football by the Arrows, but did not threat enough in the final third. To harden the blow, Rye clinched the third goal with a tap in.
Rye’s keeper had an easy job at Netherfield, which is not a phrase you hear often. This was the first game in 23 games that Pass & Move have not scored against their opposition. The last time that happened dates back to September 2019 at home to Westfield.
