Pass and Move travelled to Lime Cross to face in form Division 2 opponents Herstmonceux in the Sussex Junior County Cup.
Manager Saunters, had a full squad to pick from compared to previous weeks and it meant a debut start for Curtis Coombes in the number 10 role, who settled in brilliantly linking up play.
For the past 5 games, Arrows have had to come back fighting after conceding first. With Kovacs being unavailable it meant Cusden slotted into the CB role alongside the experienced Matthews who was great to have back after being restricted to the sidelines through injury.
A solid defensive display saw the Ceux having difficulty to break down the Arrows. The few times they did, keeper Holland made the saves needed to keep hold of a deserved clean sheet.
The Arrows front three broke the lines with some good runs from behind and the first goal came from good passing at the back leading to a long pass to Hatch who headed it on for the run of Booth who cut inside out-witting the defender and notched with his left foot.
It was a similar second half with changes of Paige, Wright and Pearse coming on to the field. As the game progressed, Herstmonceux pressed holding the Arrows deep in to their own half for periods late into the game. A counter from there, allowed a high press. Frazer latched on to a poor clearance from Ceux’s keeper, which gifted him with a gaping goal, who just doesn’t miss those opportunities.
2-0 and the game was wrapped up.
