Sandhurst Out Of Berks And Bucks Cup In Close Game

<p>Cup games are always a lottery. The draw gave us a tie against Reading Prem team Richfield Rovers Reserves, who proved to be a very good side. On 25 minutes, a defensive mistake lead to their opener. Usually our heads go down, but not today. Within a minute Omer set up Nick for our equaliser. On 32 minutes they had a corner. Ball played in low, we all missed it and they scored with a tap in. 8 minutes later another corner which they scored from a free header...bit of a trend here with defending corners lads. AGain we did not let our heads go down. On 44 minutes Alex provided the assist for Dan to drive in. 5 minutes into second half, a great move saw Dan turn provider for Omer to score. Three all and we were looking good. Sadly on 59 minutes, Omer was judged to have caught their striker inside the box and they scored from the resultant penalty. Still we gave it a good shot, but couldnt get the equaliser. I rarely use the word unlucky, but today we were just that. I reckon we deserved to go to penalties, but maybe that is just me being biased. There are loads of positives from this game. Lewis had a great solid first run out for us. We refused to let our heads get down, kept fighting and gave what was a very good team a good go. Keep that form up in the league lads and we could have a very good season. On the downside, three yellow cards mean we already have over a third of the cautions after three games than we had in the whole of last season!
