Home league match
What a difference a week makes, with several changes due to players not been available we still found ourselves with a good squad to pick from.
Missing from the squad were
Edd Tymon - Here 1 week gone the next, he needs to bring a warm coat when he decides to turn up next.
Oliver Stallard - Living life large with Scarlet Pimpernel Hobday in Scouse Land, anyone remember what George Hobday looks like??
Kieran Stallard - Away in Malta on his fitness week, having seen him on Sunday I think the I should be an a!
Sam Inch - Out on the water with his rubber ring and arm bands on, you need to be careful out there.
Harrison Ward - Rumour has it he's gone to a Star Wars convention?
By the 10 minute mark we had completed more passes than the previous week and we looked relatively solid in defence. It was in the 11th minute when Guy Watson, making his league debut got on the end of a Fred Massey shot, or was it a cross? To guide it low and in to the bottom corner.
Salcombe pretty much bossed the first half and in the 40th minute got their rewards with a well worked passing move resulting in a wonderful cross that was put in to his own net by a Watcombe player.
Half Time 2-0
The second half was pretty even with both teams creating chances and unable to take them. Our first substation saw the average weight of the team lower as Charlie 'portly' Barnes made way for Louie Martin. A colleague of his (Dodgy linesman Thorn) believes his fitness is purely down to his consumption of toad in the hole at 11am most mornings followed by lunch at 12:30.
Luke Wotton then entered the fold replacing Luke 'Broken Toe-Nail' Milton who apparently had fastened his boot too tight resulting in a painful little toe. He did say afterwards that Christine usually fastens his footwear as he has sensitive feet.
The final substitution was made with Nick Bonnet entering the fray replacing Ryan 'tattoo' Colmer, who did well in not sulking or throwing a paddy when subbed for a change. Nick looked far happier playing outfield after suffering a bad back picking the ball out of the net last week several times.
Callum Nolan and Guy Watson were the stand out players in this well earned win, with the Bolton Marauder winning the vote over Guy who we will probably never see again in a Salcombe shirt. (Will Watson or Hobday ever play for Salcombe Town again?) Was the comments coming from the huge crowd of 14.
Final Result 2-0
