Away league match

Both teams took about 20 minutes to get used to the conditions with Rustons rattling the bar from a corner before Railway thought they had scored when Ash Franklin was rounded but Sam Wade had read it well and cleared off the line. The away side from that moment took control of the game and some fine goalkeeping was all that was keeping the scores level.

They would though beat the railway keepers resolve when Pete Dickinson flicked onto Paul Norris on a corner he span and shot for the centre halves 7th goal of the season. Moments later it would be two when the railway keeper dropped the ball and Rustons captain Jamie Green was on hand to calmly slot home.

The second half would be one way traffic and the game would be put to bed when Pete Dickinson powered home at the far post after an excellent ball in by Sam Joyce. Joyce who was enjoying a fine game in the engine room would then find Dickinson again who doubled his tally with another well taken goal.

With the home side tiring Timmie Mann and three other players found there selves against just one defender and a good save fell off Manns shot fell into Sam Joyces path who got in on the act late on. Rustons man of the match was Pete Dickinson who put in a Mark Viduka like performance with Sam Joyce a close second.
