Romulus faced Uttoxeter Town at Oldfields Sports Ground on 6th September 2025, with the match kicking off at 3:00pm. The visitors secured a convincing 3-1 victory, showcasing their attacking prowess and resilience throughout the encounter.

Romulus adopted a 4-5-1 formation, designed to bolster their midfield while providing a solid defensive structure. Lewis David Gwilliams took his place in goal, shielded by a back four comprising Kobe Wilkes on the right, Ethan Jake Green and Joseph Roberts in central defence, and Reiss Martin on the left. The midfield was packed with creativity and energy, featuring Tom Ricketts on the right, Ryan Nesbitt, Bekir Halil, and Charlie Gardiner centrally, with Alfie Taylor operating on the left. Up front, Brad Mansell was tasked with leading the line as the lone striker. The substitutes for the match included Fahme Ibrahim, Dawid Peplinski, Reece Lee Nunn, and Kyle Perry.

The match began with a dramatic twist as Uttoxeter Town capitalised on a defensive error from Romulus just two minutes in, taking an early lead through a goal scored with the right foot. This setback could have shaken the visitors, but they quickly regrouped and began to assert themselves in the game.

Romulus found their rhythm and started to create chances, culminating in a well-deserved equaliser in the 37th minute. Tom Ricketts, demonstrating excellent skill and determination, scored a solo goal from outside the box, courtesy of a short pass from Brad Mansell. This goal not only levelled the score but also injected confidence into the Romulus side as they headed into half-time at 1-1.

The second half saw Romulus come out with renewed vigour. Just ten minutes after the restart, Charlie Gardiner put the visitors ahead with a stunning direct free kick, assisted by Alfie Taylor. The ball curled beautifully into the net, leaving the Uttoxeter goalkeeper with no chance.

However, moments later, Alfie Taylor found himself in the referee's book for a bad tackle, receiving a yellow card in the 56th minute. Despite this setback, Romulus continued to press forward and extended their lead in the 64th minute. Alfie Taylor redeemed himself by scoring from close range following a corner, with Ryan Nesbitt providing the assist amidst a goalmouth scramble.

As the match progressed, Romulus made tactical changes to maintain their advantage. In the 75th minute, Reece Lee Nunn replaced Charlie Gardiner, who had been instrumental in the midfield. Later, in the 88th minute, Kyle Perry came on for Brad Mansell due to injury, ensuring that Romulus maintained their attacking threat as the clock wound down.

Romulus held firm to secure a 3-1 victory, a result that showcased their ability to bounce back from an early setback and dominate the match thereafter. The performance of Reiss Martin and the introduction of Fahme Ibrahim were particularly noteworthy, contributing significantly to the team's success on the day.
