Wollaston Village 1 Roebuck 8

A long hard season was drawn to a close this morning as the Buck visited bottom of the league Wollaston Village. The hosts had beaten the Buck earlier in the season at The Bogs so the lads set out to get a bit of revenge. As the score line suggests it was a game dominated by the Buck. Roebuck took the lead in the match on 18 minutes as Alex Harris latched on the Sam Robbins flick on to find the net. The score quickly became 2-0 as Robbins this time found the net with the supply coming from Chris Hunt. For the majority of the first half Jamie Hyde in the Buck goal was a spectator as he watched on Hunt this time for the net on the half hour mark set up by Dan Lander. Two minutes later Hunt found the net for a second to make it 4-0 and with the Village back line struggling Roebuck found a fifth before the break with Hunt crossing for skipper Robbins to get his second.

H/t 0-5

Any hopes of a second half turn around for Wollaston were squashed inside the first 60 seconds of the second half as Harris notched his second of the game giving him 10 goals in his last 6 appearances. Roebuck carried on dominating the play and it was 7-0 just after the hour mark as this time Robbins headed in his hat trick goal off the long throw of Hunt. Village finally found a consultation goal two minutes later as a mix up at the back for the Buck found Hyde in goal way off his line as the ball was lobbed over him into the empty net, 7-1. With it being the final game midfielder Jack Green took the gloves for the last 20 minutes to give Hyde a run up top, 60 seconds later Hyde was celebrated as he got a flick onto Hunts pass to send the ball past the keeper for 8-1. It was a game the Buck could have had a lot more but they had to settle for 8 for the second time this week.

After 90 minutes in the sun on what was a good pitch to play on Referee Brian Holyman brought the game to an end, he voted skipper and hat trick hero Sam Robbins as the man of the match and Roebuck had hit their target set at the start of the season of a top 4 finish.
