KDFL DIVISION TWO
LAKESIDE UNITED 1 ROEBUCK 2
Roebuck continued their 100% winning start to the season this morning but Lakeside should take credit for their performance feel unlucky to have not taken something from the game. The first half was fairly even, Lakeside tried to play with the ball on deck and restricted the Buck to half chances. On 30 minutes Lakeside took the lead when a ball over the top beat the Buck back line and the United striker ran through beating keeper Callum Hughes to the ball and went on to knock the ball into the empty net.
H/T 1-0
The second half continued the same way as the first, on the hour the Buck introduced Chris Hunt into the action and his direct style with the ball started to open United up along with his dangerous long throw. On 72 minutes the Buck finally broke through and the goal came from the Hunt throw, Jamie Hyde tapping in from close range on the end of it, 1-1. Roebucks tails were up and they grabbed a winner on 80 minutes when Hunts ball into the box was meet by Aaron Craig whose effort was saved but Niki Faux was there to tap into the net to give the Buck the lead. Late on sub Dan Lander had a well hit effort saved by the United keeper and in the final minutes Lakeside pushed hard but failed to create a clear cut opportunity. The victory now makes it 7 in row and the lads will look to continue there great start as the welcome Cookley Sports to The Bogs next week.
Referee Steve Cartwright voted Niki Faux as Man of the Match.
