There were just 8 minutes gone this morning when Adam Warden found the net from the edge of the box with a low driven shot to the keepers near post to give the Buck the lead. Cookley Sports who came into the game with only their opening day defeat to Withymoor on their record for this campaign grabbed an equaliser on 26 minutes through a goalkeeping error as Callum Hughes spilled a cross from deep and Cookley’s Liam Carter struck the ball into the Buck goal, 1-1. Roebuck thought they had scored a second just before half time but Aaron Craig was rightly flagged offside to the displeasure of Buck coach Martin Sherwood.

Cookley made a good start to the second half with the Buck struggling to get out of their own half in the early exchanges but the game swung massively on the hour mark as Roebuck scored twice in two minutes, firstly Curt Willetts headed Anthony Cox’s cross into the back of the Cookley net to give the Buck the lead and on 61 minutes Niki Faux squared the ball for Cox to get himself on the score sheet to make it 3-1. Roebuck secured victory on 79 minutes as Curt Willetts found the net with his head for a second time off a cross from Chris Hunt.
