This morning the Buck kicked off their campaign for the new season against Bewdley Arches at The Bogs. Roebuck lined up with 2 new signings in the squad, Anthony Cox (Spider) came into the back 3 and Tom Hadlington started the game on the bench, joined by Matt Hill who returned to the squad after a couple seasons away.

The Buck made a fantastic start to the match when skipper Sam Robbins connected with Aaron Craig’s cross on the volley to take the lead in 54 seconds. If there were any nerves the goal settled them and the lads piled on the pressure in the opening stages and could have put the game to bed inside the first 20. Roebuck were wasteful with the chances created early and it took till the 23rd minute to grab a second as Niki Faux latched onto a long pass from Coxy to score from inside the box, 2-0. With half time approaching the 3rd goal came, a rare header from Craig off of a Coxy cross all but sealed victory.

The second half was sluggish from the lads who never really got going. Bewdley created a couple good chances which were kept out by keeper Callum Hughes. Sam Robbins picked up a yellow card for a late challenge and it took till the 87th minute for the 4th goal to come. Sub Tom Hadlington tapped in from close range to open his account for the Buck finishing a ball across the box from Faux.

Referee Ian Bate voted Coxy as Man of the Match.
