This morning, Roach Whites came up against a top of the league side, who’d won every game they'd played so far this season.
The first half was a tense affair but the Roach lads played the better football, moving the ball well and creating chances. The defence were solid, limiting Pennine to few chances and Taylor did well in goal when called into action.
At half time, we urged the lads to push on as the game was there for the taking and in the second half, Roach started to assert themselves and create more and more chances. The goal eventually came in the 68th minute from a prefectly delivered corner by Frankie, which Tobi was in the right place to head home. A couple of minutes later, we tried to manage the game by making the midfield more compact but when a high ball forward caught the defence off-guard, one of the Pennine players brilliantly struck a shot that was only ever going to hit the back of the net. Roach threw on their attacking players to try and grab a winner and came close on a couple of occasions but the game ended as a draw.
Man of the Match went to Kaiden who caused all kinds of problems for both Pennine full backs.
