Roach Whites made it 9 wins in the bounce this morning to continue their lead at the top of the table. The opposition coach even commented how impressed he was to see all the lads there on time and keen to play!
The first half was quite even without many clear chances being created and it looked like the teams would come in level at half time, until James tried his luck from a free kick a long way out. The opposition keeper made a bit of a mess of his save and the ball ended up in the net to give Roach Whites a 0-1 lead.
At half time, we encouraged the lads to get control of the ball and shoot more.
A 2nd goal came after good work on the right wing from Tobi and when his cross was only half cleared, Connlley smashed his shot into the back of the net from outside the box. A moment of poor communication and failing to get a tackle in by the defence let Cheetham Hill back into the game with a well finished goal, but as they chased the game, it left Roach's attacking line to exploit the space in behind. Tobi was then fouled when through on goal leaving Logan with a penalty to make it 1-3, which is how it ended.
Man of the match went to Ethan, who had yet another all action display in the midfield.
