A much more pleasant Saturday morning this week ??

The teams agreed to play 8v8 as unfortunately, that's all that Seedfield had available. Roach Greens took the opportunity to give a start to some players who have been working hard in training and maybe don't get to start as many games as others. Roach were straight on the front foot from the whistle and worked hard to pass the ball and create chances. The first goal came from a great corner by Jailson which was expertly put away by Sam. The same two combined again for the second goal, Jailson slotting a pass through the defence for Sam to close in on goal and finish well. Greens created a lot more chances but were unlucky, hitting the bar and post and then having a penalty saved by the excellent Seedfield keeper. Two nil at half time but it was important to stay focused.

The second half was much the same as the first, but with chances for both teams before Seedfield tired towards the end. The pressure from the front paid off with Dan intercepting a goal kick and running through on goal to slot home for the third. Play of the match came next when Ewan won the ball on the right of midfield, used his strength and pace to get through on goal but then squaring the perfect ball for Sam to complete his hat trick. A goal for Harvey followed as he too applied pressure to the opposition, winning the ball and firing home the fifth. A special goal rounded it all off with George finding space on the left when the keeper came out and made an attempt to halt his progress but George calmly rounded him and slotted the ball home from outside the area.

A good team performance and a chance for everyone to play plenty of football. Man of the match awards went to hat trick hero Sam, brave and unselfish Ewan and calm and skilful Dan. Well done everyone ??
