The second half of the season began with a great away win. From the start, Roach Greens looked to take control of the game, working hard to win the ball back, then working hard to keep it.
In the 10th minute, that control paid off as, Captain for the day, Alex played a lovely ball to split the defence which Jailson ran onto and finished well. Roach Greens continued to control and press and this paid off as Jailson grabbed his second of the day with a brilliantly executed finish from outside the box.
A half time reminder to keep up the hard work paid off just a few minutes into the second half as Greens were given a slightly fortunate penalty. Josh stepped up to take it and registered his first goal of the season, meaning that every outfield player has now scored this season! A neat passing interchange down the left paid off shortly after, with Jailson finding himself through on goal to absolutely smash it into the net, grabbing his hat-trick and Green's fourth off the day.
With the game pretty much won, Green's were playing most of the game in the opposition half but got a little complacent and this resulted in two counter attack consolation goals from the opponents. Alex wasb also desperately unlucky not to be awarded a second penalty after a late challenge in the box.
Loads of nominees for player of the match today but the awards went to Jailson for his goals and all round play, Alex for his persistence as well a two great assists and Joe who had his best game of the season.
