An early start on a 3G pitch was probably not what we were hoping for but Roach Greens can feel really hard done by to not claim a 3rd straight win.
The game started really well, Roach kicking off and showing some lovely passing to keep possession. It didn't take long for the chances to come and after a couple of close efforts, in the 7th minute Jailson took the ball from midfield, made himself a yard of space and powered a typical shot past the Bury Academy keeper. Greens desire to win every ball was clear and they created another couple of chances but couldn't manage a second goal before half time.
Bury Academy pushed hard in the second half but Ewan was in great form in goal, keeping them at bay. The game got a little scrappy in the second half but there were some great plays by Roach as they tried to grab that important second goal. With less than a minute to go though, a small lapse of concentration left Bury Academy with a bit of space and they fired in a good equaliser. It was a bitter blow and probably undeserved but Roach Greens can again be proud of their display.
Man of the match awards went to Dan, who showed fantastic ball control and calmness on the ball, Alex who was a great attacking outlet all game and Josh who showed a composed and committed defensive display.
