This was it, the opening game and our opponents were young, hungry and fit.

The first half The Revs sat too deep making defensive errors and allowing the opposition too much respect and possession. They soon made that tell and scored three counter attack goals leaving The Revs stunned.

The Revs had moments when Beardall was put in by Allen, but his shot was directly at the keeper.

Half time couldn't have come quick enough. The Revs gathered themselves and made a real fist of it. Howeever the opposition scored quickly to make it 4-0. The Revs needed a kick start.

A corner soon after the 4th goal led to The Revs first goal of 6aside competition when Evans whipped it in and their defence turned the ball in from close range.

Suddenly The Revs had belief. Allen controlling things at the back and Steane pulling off a wonder save to keep the score 4-1. A kick in from D. Pinkstone into Evans allowed him to turn and shoot into the bottom corner.

Marshall was on the end of a bollocking for marking fresh air, which spurred him on, he hounded the last man and from the rebound he scored from outwide, at an acute angle, to make it 4-3.

The Revs pushed on with Tyman having a direct header taken from him and Hartrick mis-judging a through ball from Beardall with the goal begging.

Allen continued to control at the back, blocking attack after attack and setting The Revs on the forward foot.

Unfortunately the opposition scored two late goals, one from a handball, to make it 6-3. However plenty of positives to take as The Revs head into week 2.
