The Revs show a bit of fighting spirit right to the end and also played a bit of football whilst they were at it...

Look, the headlines are still 5th loss in a row - the worst run of games for The Revs in a long, long time. The future looked grim, heads were down and people were feeling... well, old!

However, for the first time in a few weeks we can speak of positive things! The play out from the back really set a platform to attack and some of the defending was nothing short of brilliant.

Lady luck still hasn't actually paid The Revs a visit yet on her rounds in regards to a result but some of her influence - and acting by the Evans brothers - certainly was on show with the ghost goal... Did it go through the side netting or completely miss??

VAR (Very Agitated Revs) said 'No goal'... VAR, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing...

Steane pulled off some great saves, even if one or two were for the camera... If only we brought a camera!

Pinkstone Snr was at his best hounding, blocking, last ditch tackles... and even got under the skin of their man mountain who threatened to cave his face in. Phil getting on someone's nerves?? Naaaah....

It was 0-0 at half time and overall The Revs had the better of it. Which is why we were always going to be the team to concede.... (again??? Oh, sorry first one didn't count!).

A cheap ball given away in the middle and one counter attack later 1-0 down... But heads didn't drop as we were more than a match for this team. The Revs continued to carve out good chances and albeit for a bit of composure and confidence in front of goal should have been back in it.

And that was essentially the story...

It just left for a second goal to go in, which again due to The Revs piling on the pressure in their half was a breakaway goal. A two on one situation with Evans Snr and their attacker and goal hanger left the team vulnerable.

However, they almost mucked it up. Steane came out and closed the goal hanger down, Evans Snr went onto the line, both players stretching, Evans Snr landing awkwardly on his wrist attempting to get any body part on the ball and it managed to evade and sneak in off the far post.

Essentially game over, but a shift was put in by all. You cannot fault the effort put in by the lads...

So with a bit more luck, a sprinkling of composure and a dash of reinvigorating confidence maybe The Revs will cook up a victory next time out?!?!

Surely there has to be a turning point soon???
