Home league match

For the third game in a row the team has been a little disjointed. And frustration is setting in as everyone knows that things can be done better.

That is not to say that there were not moments of brilliance in and amongst the play.

But that's the point, The Revs are capable, they show that but are just inconsistent.

The one big positive is that in defence they looked impenetrable once again. Yes the opposition had quick players and the lion's share of territory but Jamie and James at the back were forming a solid partnership and if the opposition did get through, which was rare, Myers was in no mood to allow himself to be penetrated, let alone the goal!

In the first half The Revs knocked it around at times beautifully and with confidence, pulling the opposition apart and allowing The Revs to get into the final third after creating the space. However, the keeper was never truly tested, which is a shame as he didn't look the most comfortable at times.

The second half the opposition sat much deeper, cutting out the space and trying to hit The Revs on the counter. A lack of movement and vision at times woefully lacking from The Revs attack. The space they worked so hard to create in the first half was now a distant memory as the opposition pushed on for the win.

The Revs of course stood firm, but the constant threat of attack really sapped the energy from the team and any form of attack looked tiring in the second half.

As time ebbed on it was a much safer option to hold onto the point rather than lose altogether. The opposition sensed this and pushed hard. It felt at times that The Revs would never get out of their own half.

Tired minds and tired legs almost let the opposition in late on but scrambling defence and poor execution saved the day and the point.

This was a game The Revs should of and could of won had a little more pressure been applied and a little more urgency.

There will be no hiding next week if energy levels are not improved.
