Home league match

Something is a little broken at the moment. This was meant to be the season The Revs pushed on and made a challenge for one of the top spots.
However, a second consecutive 4-1 loss (at least we are consistent!) meant The Revs were languishing at the wrong end of the table.
Real Ale Madrid, much like last weeks opposition, are not better than The Revs. They possess one good player, much like last week, but on this showing they were better as a team.
Their first was a rare error from Myers after a long range hit and hope was allowed to trickle in at the near post after a counter attack. The Revs did not let this get them down though and continued to pile on the pressure.
Balls were whipped in and chances were created. Beardall had a snap shot balloon over, J. Evans had a couple of tame shots gobbled up by the keeper, but that final piece of the jigsaw was just missing.
Eventually pressure told and The Revs got their reward after Allen fiercely drove the ball in from a corner to J. Evans at the front post, but under pressure from the defender if came off the outside of his foot and was laid into the path of Tyman who made no mistake in drilling the ball low and hard into the bottom corner.
Game on!!
The Revs outlook this season so far is to go for the win in every game however this is leading to counter attack opportunities for the opposition. And this night was no different.
Their remaining three goals in the second half to seal victory were all counter attack, played up to their speedy front man and wait for the keeper or defender to make their move and take advantage.
Still chances were created though witht he two best falling to Steane. First a back heel by J. Evans which Steane then somehow scooped over the bar from 2 yards - normally Steane would eat those up - and the second when Beardall played him in and his shot from the angle beat the keeper but was cleared off the line by last gasp defending.
That was the story of the game... Nearly men.
The ref didn't help mind, he was making the rules up as he went along, much to the annoyance of Tyman especially.
Towards the end the team was beat and it summed it up when Myers strolled forward from his goal and had a very wayward shot off target.
The Revs know they can play better than this and will play better than this. The season starts next week! Time to get the challenge back on track!
