In 1987 we had the Great Storm in Britain. 30 years later we had Hurricane Ophelia. If we have another massive storm in 30 years time that will mean only one thing; I'm due to win Man of the Match again.

Last night conditions were a nightmare, as Lewis' second half kick in proved. Swirling wind aside the Revs had to drop Ty as too many of us wanted a shirt. With only Dave P missing due to his 17th holiday of the year we lined up strong and with nothing to fear from a team we've never played before. It was therefore only natural we absolutely terrible first 15 minutes in the first half.

Conditions aside our passing was poor and a couple of defensive lapses meant we were 2-0 down pretty quickly. Whilst the second came via a deflection it was probably no more than we deserved as we'd sat way too deep and not worked their keeper at all. As ever with us adversity always makes us wake up and suddenly we started playing.

A goal back before halftime thanks to Jamie's free kick and my turn and finish, we had also started to pass the ball better and were getting back into the game, halftime came and went and we really kicked on.

Chances came and went for James and Gaz, their keeper proving to be as lucky as he was good as he stopped a couple despite not knowing much about it. We were also defending much better and while they hit the post on one attack we struck theirs a few minutes later. The last 5 minutes were an assault on their goal as we pushed for the equaliser that we had finally done enough to deserve. Their keeper made another good save, Gaz came within an inch of getting on the end of a corner, and all in we finished having lost 2-1 but pretty positive about how we'd sorted ourselves out when two goals behind.

Onwards and if play like that and there's not a hurricane getting gradually worse throughout the game, I think we'll win next week, and probably the week after too.
