The Bubble Bursts

The bubble has well and truly burst for The Revs. A very lacklustre performance coupled with the Misfits just been up for the game from the start.

All credit to The Misfits to be honest. With new players amongst their ranks they stifled The Revs from the start, hounding every move, putting pressure on players and generally not letting the team get into any kind of rhythm.

The ball never fell kindly and the wrong decisions were made during an error strewn first half that saw The Misfits earn a 2 goal lead and never look back.

The best chance late in the first half fell to Beardall who peeled off his marker from a corner but his header was easily collected by the opposition’s new, confident keeper.

Things improved marginally in the second half but The Revs never really looked like threatening the opposition goal. Any half chances were spooned over or went harmlessly wide. The Misfits stuck to their plan all the way through game, choking the life out of The Revs.

I mean there really isn’t much to say at this point. The Revs went missing when it counted. A title was on the line and now The Misfits look in total control heading into the final 3 games of the campaign.

Look, if you had given The Revs the opportunity at the start of the season to put a string of results together and be in with a shout of a trophy they would have bitten your hand off. The team has a lot to be proud of and still there is always an outside chance they could pip The Misfits. It was just a shame this result now means destiny is out of Rev hands.

Three more games to go to pick themselves up and finish as strongly as possible. One more win could guarantee second place at the very least. And that would still be the best finish this team has ever had at 6aside.
