SPOILERS: We played really well.

A Pinkstone-less Revolutions were up for this after last week's stroll. Last time against this lot we had lost 2-1 in a game we should have won. There was nothing to fear here as we lined up with Olly in goal, then Ty, Jamie A, James E, Matty, Gaz, Lewis and me raring to go.

The game started with a few minutes of possession going back and forth with neither team actually doing much with it. It was the Revs who grasped the initiative and started to push on with time and space available.

After a long ball forward Matty knocked it over a defenders head and then passed to me in space, one finish later and the Revs were 1-0 up. We'd actually gone ahead in a game in the first half, it was so weird.

One quickly bacame two after a lovely move between Gaz and Matty left me with a tap in. Not only were we two nil up but the passes were flowing, it was lovely stuff.

There were lots of things that were very different to how we usually played on Monday. For a start there was far less long ball stuff, a lot of building from the back that pulled them forward and left space for us up top. Also there was a lot more calm on the ball, people were picking their passes and attacking was a joy. So much so even Lewis was doing his best Messi impression, sitting people on their arses with skill instead of a shoulder. Good stuff and maybe a template for how we should play going forward.

Two became three just before halftime when James volleyed in a third after an assist I didn't see so will attribute to Mesut Ozil (ED aka Gaz). Cruising, and you know what happens when the Revs are cruising...

Well there was no collapse, we did concede one but defensively we were never really in trouble once we figured out all they had was an overlap. Their goalkeeper showed up second half and saved a few good chances, but overall we finished the half as we started it - on top and pushing for more. Another day we would have had another three second half, but a win's a win.

Next week we play a good team we've never beaten but we're in form and scoring goals, bookies making us slight favourites, worth bunging us in your treble for the weekend I reckon.

EDIT: Sorry H on this occasion your journo skills fail. We beat The Rosse last time out, 2-1!
