Banterlona have promised to take The Revs title this season and on this display I don't think The Revs will be stopping them.
It wasn't that they were particularly good on the night, it was more the disjointed performance of the boys in blue and the opposition capitalising on mistakes.
A bit of aggravation set in, teammates annoying each other, not encouraging each other. Once that happens the opposition will always smell blood...
And so was the case. They scored midway through the first half and repeated that feat midway through the second... in between, bar one or two shots - including hitting the post - The Revs just could not keep any kind of sustained pressure up to truly threaten the opposing goal.
And so for the second time in a row The Revs go down 2-0 to Banterlona and allow their unbeaten start to the season go unthreatened. The team's autopsy was simple, we CAN be better and we SHOULD be better.
24 years ago Trainspotting came out...
Choose life. Choose Revs. Choose goals. Choose clean sheets and fucking big performances. Choose getting in the face of the opposition, choose hard tackles, thundering shots and supporting teammates...
Choose Revs... but why would I want to do a thing like that...?
Next week the team needs a shake, needs to encourage and needs to play like we all know we can play. Like champions.
