Home league match

Games vs Athletico Parsnips are always a tight affair, you know what your going to get. More recently they have had a more determined look about them and last night took The Revs by surprise with their bright start.

The Revs looked cumbersome and Parsnips looked much brighter, penning The Revs in and took a just lead with only minutes on the clock. Still shellshocked The Revs didn't react to this and Parsnips doubled their lead moments later.

The team were a little in disarray but it was needed to finally wake up the team. Suddenly the team got its act together and started playing to their strengths.

Hartrick put in a masterclass up front, bullying the opposition, holding up the ball, playing in teammates and so when Tyman cut out a ball after good pressure (maybe with the use of a hand?!?) Hartrick didn't need a second invite, flicking the ball through the keepers legs and the ball rolled gently over the line...

It gave the team the impetus to push on and Hartrick soon doubled his tally to restore parity before half time.

The team talk was clear... played badly but still in this, now time to push on...

And that's what happened.

Hartrick, missed some gilt edged chances but at least the chances were coming thick and fast.

The third came from route one, Myers picking out Hartrick, who turned his man, then finished with ease to complete his hatrick.

The opposition were now in shock and nothing they did seemed to come off. The Revs were now very much in command.

Chances came, chances were squandered.

Eventually Tyman sealed the 3 points after brilliant play Lewis Evans played him in and a first time hit made it 4.

Parsnips finally put on some late pressure but nothing was getting past a determined defence.

The second half was a true reflection of how The Revs can and should play. And it's fair to say that hatrick hero Hartrick should have had 6 goals to his name, the scoreline flattered the opposition in the end.

Big game next week against Misfits but should the team take this form into that game, then Misfits won't have it their way like they expect...
