Home league match
We were eager to get a result out of this game as it would leave us with a live chance of 3rd and being a derby we naturally wanted to win over the other Reigate side. We had a very unfamiliar back line and 10 minutes in it faltered when a ball over the top was played in and Driver got a toe to it but couldn't get it out of harms way and the striker lobbed Lewis in goal. After the first 15 minutes of pressure from Town, the Hill pushed on and dominated the rest of the half culminating in Smith being played in by Chris Wigley and slammed one home past the keeper. We had a few more chances but we went in at half time 1-1 and knew we had the better of Town going into the break.
The only thing that let the defence down was the defending from set pieces and we got unfortunate when a long throw ended up loose right in front of goal and Town went 2-1 up early in the 2nd half. Despite that we were handed a goal just as fortunate when Rob Wigley sent a long throw into the box and the pressure on the keeper forced him to flap the ball into his own net. After this Town were a bit shell shocked and Reigate Hill struck twice in quick succession. Alex made a run and played Rob in down the right and he strolled past the right back and unleashed a shot into the far corner. We shortly made it 4 when Elliott gave the ball to Tulley and he tanked his way through 3 challenges and fired one in. Town managed to get one back straight away on the counter attack but we held out for the last 10 minutes and saw the win through.
