Home league match

We were all excited for the first local derby of the season vs Reigate Town but it turned out to be a day to forget. We started well though, first 10 mins getting the ball down and giving them a few problems. They then took the lead with a fine strike from outside of the area and there wasn't much we could do about it and then on a counter about ten minutes later they found a player free at the far post and once again the shot would have been tough for anyone to save. About half an hour in Ricky got clattered by the striker and had to go off with the gaffer taking the reins in goal. The rest of the first half was pretty tame but we knew we were still in the game, they made it 3 after half time but we didn't let our heads drop and we got a goal back from a throw to Carroll who put the perfect ball into the box for Mikey to nod in from close range. We were on top once again and both Carroll and Driver had shots blocked that would have been in among many other chances and if any of them had gone in the game may have ended completely differently. About 15 minutes before the end they broke through and a reckless challenge from Pual gave them a penalty which they dispatched and then the game was killed off. There were still plenty of promising signs and with players to come back in from injury we've still got a long way to go.

On from what Chucky said should be motivation enough looking at the table! On today's performance this is where we will finish if we are not luck! It won't just happen out there for us with the talented squad that we have, yes we were unlucky with some chances today but we need to start helping each other on the pitch which was lacking today. Brock had a good game today but my man of the match is Harry Paine, he showed confidence and by far his best performance today for the club long may it continue. I want to see everyone who can make it to training at Tuesday 7pm
