A wet Master Park awaited us once again for the return fixture with Oxted and a different Oxted full of youth lined up against us although they looked a bit disturbed by the sight of Driver in goal without any gloves who received looks that wouldn't be out of place in an asylum.
Anyway we started well with the bare 11 and put the pressure on early having a few chances, the game was a bit up and down but we controlled the pace, getting the balls out wide early and concentrating our attacks down the flanks but we couldn't get anything in the net. Adam turned up and replaced Gillett but shortly after Oxted took the lead after a perfectly timed through ball saw the finish fizz over Driver's head and into the net. We fell into the usual screaming and shouting at the referee and handed Oxted the initiative. They took advantage of this shortly after half time scoring a second from a corner but we had a renewed energy after half time and a few verbal batterings later saw us come back into the game. The returning George was a machine throughout the game, waltzing in and out through Oxted players and he forced the breakthrough playing in Fernandez who took another few players on and saw it home. Reigate had got their teeth back and were out for blood. It didn't come until late on when a defender clumsily cleared it to Smith who didn't make a mistake for his 39th of the season. The hero though fell down to Adam Bull, a thoroughly deserved goal for a new kid on the block who brings a bit of pace and determination to the full backs and wings and finally got his breakthrough when firing one off in the last minute of normal time and seeing the ball sail into the far corner sparked eruptions amongst the men in Red as we knew that this was it. This was the time we stepped up once again, like we did at Battlebridge and kept our title hopes alive. We must win both our double header games at home to Blacksmith and hope Merstham drop points before the big guns meet in a potential title decider at Merstham football club on the 18th.
