Reigate Suffer Heavy Defeat At Hands Of Oxted

<p>After doing the double over Oxted last season and being unfortunate only to take a point at home earlier in the season it's hard to explain exactly what happened as Oxted demolished us 5-1. Once again we started slow and they were able to get in behind and score pretty much straight away and showed their dominance early on as they utilised the width and controlled the game with good passing. We started to get back into it and were rewarded fortunately when the keeper threw the ball straight to Mikey who just slotted it past the keeper and we were back in the game. We started to get into the game and had a fair share of chances but once again we struggled to convert the chances and they punished us making it 2-1 before half time. We were still definitely in the game and should have got back into it but in a case of de ja vu Oxted broke through after the half time whistle and scored a third. Even then we were still in it but once the 4th had gone in with about 20 to go the game was over and things were made worse when Lewis got injured and is now ruled out until at least the new year. They scored a 5th before the end and a completely dejected Reigate trudged off the pitch where once again a failure to take chances left us unable to take advantage of other teams slip ups and again we are dropping points when finally looking like we can challenge for the title. This week we travel to a strong Malden Vale in the cup 3rd round. We know it's going to be a tough game now we are heading towards the latter stages of the cup but as with last round anything can happen and we need to go into the game positively!
