vs Monotype FC
Home league match
After putting 4 past Monotype last time and winning the past 4 on the bounce confidence was high and in showed in a professional performance. With no Rob Wigley or Matt Lewis available Chris Wigley stepped in at centre back with the drunken mess Driver going in goal. It was an even start with both sides having a couple of chances and Monotype troubled us early. Despite that once we got the goal we stepped it up and cruised through the game, Jon Gillett played the flick through to Danny who made no mistake when one on one and our confidence was epitomised in the swagger of Gillett bopping his way back to the centre circle oh so nonchalant. It quickly became 2 when Alex Smith beat a few of the Monotype players and found Danny on the left edge who easily beat the left back and found the other side of the net with his wrong foot. The 3rd which came 5 minutes later was absolutely sublime, The Smith's worked together on the right and Alex played a superb ball which fell to Danny on the left side near the edge and he crashed an almighty volley into the net. Monotype made it 3-1 with an excellent free kick which Driver nearly kept out but we pushed straight back with Mikey converting from close range after Tulley played him in. Monotype grabbed a 2nd just before half time with a good header from close range and we went in at HT 4-2. Gillett made way for George who slotted in at CB and Wigley moved back up top.
It was game over shortly after the interval when Danny causing chaos again found Mikey who lashed it home from inside the box. We cruised our way through the rest of the half and Steve came on for Damo at left back before Tulley grabbed a 6th from a Mikey assist and Danny then made way for Gillett once the game was won. Wigley grabbed a 7th late on with Mikey putting it in for him to tuck it home. Another good performance where we went about our business and did it in fine form, we couldn't have done much about the 2 goals and defended very well, the midfield once again put in a solid shift and the strikers had their boots on once again. Top of the league Godstone next week and a chance to have a say in the title race despite being out of it.
