<p>Despite a earlier comfortable win over Battlebridge earlier in the season, we were determined not to go into the game expecting a win and to be ruthless in an attempt to win and it paid dividends. In all fairness it was a very sloppy start and first 20 minutes, both teams had chances but there were some nervy moments and rogue passes from us early on. We did get an early lead though as a Lovell corner found the smallest man in the box Mikey whose header rattled the bar and as it looped up the keeper somehow threw it into his own net! Still after that goal we were not comfortable and it took us a while to take control but by the time half time came around we were in cruise control. Half an hour in and we capitalised on a defensive mistake and Sam played a perfect ball into the danger zone which Mikey slid into the back of the net. The third came shortly after when Hames took about 3 players on after picking the ball up off Perlesha and struck one past the keeper with ease. Driver was fouled just before half time and Lovell decided he'd shoot from the free kick and from 30 yards unleashed a thunderbolt into the top corner before unleashing a scream that could be heard in Scotland... Half time came and at 4-0 up we were in very comfortable shape and able to mix the team around a bit. We came out for the 2nd half and we continued the rout with a swarm of 3 goals within 10 minutes. The 5th came from a Tulley cross which found it's way into the box to be finished by a trademark Sammy B header and was shortly followed by a Tulley ball across the box which found Driver free on the right hand side to lash home. Hames then played a superb long ball to captain Rob Wigley playing up top for the first time this season and he chested it past the keeper and slotted it home from a tough angle. We then took our foot off the gas and allowed them to score a goal back before reverting to the same formation and set up from the first half to stop us messing around. We cruised through the rest of the half until the end when Tulley was found from a Naish chip and beat the keeper 1 on 1 before George did exactly the same from a Tulley pass. 9-1 was the final score and we deserved it thoroughly, everyone played well but looking back on it we still could have played much better and we should have scored 12/13. Next week we travel to Crawley Down to face bottom of the league Crawley Down Social Club, if we win that and Godstone lose to Oxted we can go top of the league and force everyone to chase us down! Many people could have laid a claim to motm, Tulley got 3 assists and a goal, Toby had a stormer at RB and Lovell scoring goal of the season so far but I thought Peter Hames played a superb game at DM and controlled the game for us getting an assist and a superb solo goal in the process and what impressed me most was his attitude when we started getting sloppy. It was also great to see Josh Green back on the pitch and all in all it was a superb result.
