New Season started for Real Saturn in 2023. During the offseason, RS successfully recruited Taka from Japan after his contract expired at his old club to strengthen the team.
RS started the match in their usual 451 formation with newly recruited Taka making his debut for the club.
RS meet their rivalry in the first match of the season in MBPP the Kuning.
RS started the match brightly, control the possession & tempo with ease, with Patrick who found a new life in a striker role, pressing & leading from the front is making life difficult for opposition defenders.
RS created chances from their play but couldn't score an opening goal, especially Lau BS missed 2 brilliant chance to score on his return to the team, sadly his shot is so soft that even somebody's grandmother would able to make the save.
Make it worst, after Lau missed the second chance to open the scoring with MBPP keeper collect the ball then release the ball for the quick counter, with Lau still dreaming of what could have been he just let the defender go & attack RS, a quick 1-2 from MBPP leave Taka to dust where the striker square for tap in. Again RS's lacked of concentration cost them dear.
RS trailed 1-0 at half time
RS coach mr. xXx make use of the new rule of 5 substitution & send on his cavalry. But before they could make an impact, a loose clearance from RS costing them again, MBPP pick up the loose ball & drive to penalty area, a dropped of shoulder & shot to the near post & in. RS keeper has no chance whatsoever.
What is great to see is the spirit of RS, even with 2 goals down they are still fighting instead of letting the match go. With the game is opening up, RS midfield have rooms in the midfield to hurt MBPP. RS making the play out from the back, a quick pass from Chard found Au on the left wing, Au saw SB with the space in the middle of field & pass the ball to him, with MBPP defenders is drawn out, SB release a inch perfect through ball for Firdaus to run onto, Firdaus expertly slot the ball between the keeper's & RS is back in contention.
RS keep pressing & able to created another chance, another ball in from the right wing caused chaos in the MBPP penalty area, too bad the ball clear by defender before RS attackers able to pounce on it.
That's it, RS lost the first game of season though mr. xXx saw plenty of positive & stability from the team which able to play together for a period of time & build on from there.
