Hard Earned Draw

RS played against Marine FC, one of the younger team in the league.

RS facing some players shortage with only 2 senior players on the bench, 3 youth players promoted to make the headcount.

RS started the match with the experience they have, try to contain Marine with some passing to settled down, keeping the younger opponent pressing around.

With players shortage, Adie the usual keeper playing up front, he hold the ball well & get midfielders into the play. Rooy who is fatigue after playing so many matches on & off the fields, is having a difficult times against the defenders who get pass him very easily.

Marine is gaining the advantage of been younger the longer the match went on, RS get pressed into their half. When RS failed to clear, ball fells to Marine RB, who control & shot from outside the area, the ball flew & dipped under the post. RS trailed Marine with 30 mins to play.

RS coach Mr.xXx make a tactical change & send on Heng to replace Firdaus, pushing SB up to the false 9 position to support Rooy. With Marine sensing RS is getting tired, keep pressing & passing around RS, but RS stood firm & defend as a unit, Marine FC can only shoot from far & not trouble RS goals at all.

RS's plan is very obvious for the last 15 mins, stood firm & grab a chance to counter with devastation.

Plan is working to the best desired when Heng charged down a shot & pass to Rooy who is in space at the left, he saw SB at the middle with no one marking him, pass to him & making the run, SB waited for the absolute right moment & send a 1-2 through pass to Rooy, Rooy speed up & run onto the ball, he managed to evaded a covering defender, draw & get past the keeper, pass the ball into the empty net, RS crawl a goal back 1-1.

The game ended a draw, credit for both team who gave their all.

RS coach very happy with the performance & spirit & want the team to carry on.
