Harsh Penalty Wins The Day For Walkden

<p>A wet and rainy day away to North Walkden Blues. The ref was unsure about playing the game at first and I admit it was 'touch and go'.

<p>The lads were encouraged to continue how they had been playing recently and look to start quickly which is often one of the things they could improve on. First half there was not much for either keeper to do as both defences were on top as both teams struggled o adapt to the wet conditions. Second half was a more open game but one we had the better of as we began controlling the game and moving the ball neatly, which is to there credit as the pitch wasn't helping. It was a shame that the game had to be decided by one incident when a tackle on the edge of the box was given as a penalty by the ref. The Walkden striker stepped up and Rory guessed correctly but unfortunately the rebound went straight back to the striker to score. The decision seemed harsh as all the lads said it was outside of the box but these are the decisions you sometimes get in your favour and other times against you.

<p>The lads competed all match and can consider themselves very unfortunate not to get something out of the game. That being said, no real chances of note were created and thats something to work on.
