A long trip away for the Green Army saw a thrilling encounter against Lincoln Griffin's F.C which was none stop action from start to finish.

Priory started with an attacking 2-4-1-1 formation. With Taylor between the sticks, Killett & Scotney Manning the defence, Wing backs Lawton & Tuxford, A midfield 3 of Parkin, Herman and Captain Michalska with Keira Whyld leading the line.

The game begun well for The greens with half chances for Whyld and Parkin, Some great play particularly in the midfield areas keeping the ball well and playing through the Griffin's midfield.

We didn't have long to wait for the first goal, great play between Killett and Michalska released Lawton down the right wing and after a mesmerizing run ( the 1st of many ) fizzed in a low cross on target to be diverted into the net by a Griffin's defender.

With the effort being on target the goal was credited to Lawton and makes her the first Priory player to reach double figures for the season (10). And has now scored 29 goals including friendlies since signing in the summer.

The match continued and a barrage of corners and set pieces from the Priory attack only increased pressure, Until on 26 minutes a mistake from the Priory defence led to a 1 on 1 which was well dealt with by Taylor only for the rebound to fall to the Griffin's centre midfielder on the edge of the box who hit a great strike into the roof of the net from 20 yards 1-1 against the run of play.

In truth the last 10 minutes of the 1st half was probably Priory's worst period of the game, the quick flowing passing that we had seen in the first 25 minutes had suddenly gone.

Half time arrived swiftly and words from Gray & Staples must of worked, 2nd half was a much stronger controlled performance.

Great play from Tuxford and Parkin lead to a great chance for Jones which just squirmed wide, Lawton's corners we're causing chaos in the Griffin's area. Sure enough on 45 minutes the Greens finally took the lead. Parkin collected the ball in midfield skipped past 2 players and hit a shot from 30 yards that crept under the Griffin's keeper. Priory finally getting the rewards for the hard work they'd put in.

Chances came and went with Walker going close and Herman just missing the target after her shot deflected just wide. But on 57 minutes the goal of the game, A great interchange down the left between Scotney and Lawton released Walker to go on a great run down the wing and do her famous drag back and pick out the perfectly positioned Jones who took one touch and picked out the bottom corner like a seasoned veteran . 3-1 and fully deserved.

A very late consolation from Lincoln was unfortunate and slightly took away the gloss on what was bar a 10 minute spell at the end of the 1st half a fantastic display.
