Sometimes: Heart, is the weapon of choice for a football player, none more so this week than Stevie, who had a thoroughly involved game. He knows about the first goal, and had the character to go up the other end almost immediately and win his team a penalty. Heart. It’s easy to dig out the defence, you can misplace a dozen midfield passes, miss-control and spoon it all day in the opposition half and it passes by. When you err at the back, you don’t have a midfielder, a defender and a goalkeeper to spare your blushes. Remember that. You remember it too Stevie, you erred and shone on Saturday when others may have wilted.

Falling behind again for the second week, we got back in to it, and truth be told the second half changes I made were only to win the game. Purely tactically I brought on the pace of Alkie and Dave, no slight on the solid work of Mikey and Ben. We were the dominant force, and all the way to the 80th minute it was only a matter of when we’d get the winner, but again we switched off for a second and paid the price. I referred to it last week - GAME MANAGEMENT. The second really was a chuckle brothers moment - from the line I could almost hear, “to me, to you, to me….” Good grief! Nolan, Andy and myself all realised that the only hope was to risk it on three up top, and back on came Keiran in his sexy new boots! Gary being the defensive sacrificial lamb. I hate taking that kind of chance, as it really is a hail Mary, but it got the result, as the cup fell over attempting a bicycle kick, but still uted in the most deliciously ugly piece of comic ballet you’ll ever see. I can’t tell you if it was brilliant or buffoonery, but it got us another draw.

Keep it Rotten.
