Portsmouth MvF 4 - 3 Worthing MvF

Worthing made the journey across the south coast to play Portsmouth in what turned out to be a very close game.

In the 5th minute, after receiving the ball from Steve Waller, Worthing forward Jamie Cole evaded three Pompey defenders in a great move that resulted in him slotting the ball into the bottom corner despite the Portsmouth keeper's touch.

At the 20-minute mark, Portsmouth equalizes with a contentious penalty converted by Luke Diaper.

In the 30th minute, another penalty is awarded to Portsmouth, this time successfully finished by Ben Bashforth, making it 2-1 to the home side.

In the 38th minute, a well-executed play by Worthing's Jamie Cole sets up a close-range finish by Paul Mayhew, levelling the score at 2-2.

Just two minutes later, Ben Bashforth scores a spectacular 30-yard screamer off the crossbar, putting Portsmouth ahead 3-2.

The second half started lively and it was Worthing that struck first for another equaliser. An attempted clearance by Portsmouth defender Connor Croft rebounded off the Worthing forward Lloyd Osland and looped over the stranded substitute keeper Alex Cook to make it 3 a piece.

At the 75-minute mark, Mark Dalgleish's precise cross from the left back position finds Liam Lyon's head, sending it past the Worthing keeper to make for a dramatic winner.

Worthing tried to find another goal from anywhere but Portsmouth held firm for the win
