At 5 minutes, Basingstoke capitalized on a defensive breakthrough, with Som initially blocking a shot, only for it to rebound off a Basingstoke player and find the net, putting them in the lead.

By the 25th minute, a magnificent cross-field pass from Arron set up Liam, who, in a brilliant combination with Coley, scored from close range, leveling the score at 1-1.

Portsmouth took the lead at the 70-minute mark when Arron's short pass met Gary's powerful strike from 20 yards, the ball hitting the post before finding the back of the net, making it 2-1.

However, at the 80th minute, Basingstoke managed to equalize again with a strong shot from the edge of the area, bringing the score to 2-2.

The 85th minute saw a contentious moment as Bash's looping free-kick found Taff's head, heading the ball possibly after it had crossed the line, resulting in a debated goal and putting Portsmouth ahead at 3-2.

In the 88th minute, Liam found the net once more, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside call, leaving the score at 3-2 in favor of Portsmouth, where it remained until the final whistle.
