Plymouth Phoenix bounced back from last weeks set back with an outstanding team performance to overcome Plainmoor Girls. The opening exchanges were close, but once Phoenix got into their stride they took control of the game and took the lead after 10 minutes with Hollie Ellis scoring from close range. Phoenix were guilty of missing many chances and also being denied by an outstanding performance from the Plainmoor goalkeeper who made some incredible saves, however, she could not stop a powerful drive from the edge of the area from Ellis who was setup neatly by Jade Packer. It was the same combination again as Ellis fired home into the roof of the net to complete her hat-trick. Plaimoor dug in deep and battled well but came up against a mean defence well marshaled by Isabelle Rowland and found it difficult to get their shots off. HT 0-3

The second half saw little change with Plainmoors' keeper making outstanding saves to include a triple save which was unbelievable (well done the keeper). However, Plainmoor did start to get more of the ball and forced a few corners and were denied a goal by Phoenix keeper Kyanna Orchard who bravely dived at the feet of the on rushing striker to prevent her getting her shot away. Phoenix increased their lead when a pass from Phoebe Sherrell found Emily Ley on the wing, she took the ball in her stride, raced past the defender a drove an unstoppable shot into the far corner of the net. Hollie Ellis got her 4th of the game when she finished off good play by Maddy Thompson and Amy Pridham. Ellis completed the scoring with her 5th goal of the game when she collected another through ball by Jade Packer and she calmly placed the ball into the far corner of the net for a well taken goal.

Plymouth Phoenix welcomed back Phoebe Sherrell who has been recovering from a long term illness.
