<p>Plymouth Phoenix Girls played their best football to date to comprehensively beat previous unbeaten league leaders Budleigh Girls. Phoenix got off to a flying start with Hollie Ellis grabbing two goals in the 8 minutes of this game, the first finishing off a cross from Maddie Maguire, her 2nd from the edge of the area after picking up the loose ball. Jade Packer then increased the lead with a well taken goal. Ellis completed her hat-trick with a fine drive into the bottom corner of the net to give the rampant Phoenix a 4-0 half time lead.

<p>The 2nd half saw Phoenix continue to take the game to Budleigh, who threatend in moments of the 2nd half, but found the Phoenix rear guard in determined mood and well led by central defender Isabelle Rowland. Phoenix increased their lead when Phoebe Sherrell was set up by Hollie Ellis to fire home from the edge of the penalty area. Jade Packer got her 2nd after rounding the defender to find the bottom corner of the net. Hollie Ellis got her 4th of the game when she let fly from 25 yards and the ball going in via the underside of the crossbar for a great goal. Jade Packer rounded up the scoring and completing her hat-trick with a delightful piece of skill, cleverly back heeling in to the back of the net direct from a Maddie Maguire corner.

<p>This result has lifted Plymouth Phoenix to the top of the Devon Girls League on goal difference but with games in hand on their closest rivals.
