Took me a full week to compose myself to write this report!
Firstly, the boys were first rate again, they are really starting to grow and develop into a team that plays to everyone's strengths, getting comfortable with the formation and positions we want them to play.
It was a very tight game, against a team that has won the majority of their games this season and moved up 2 divisons because of this.
The first half performance was good, we just didn't get the rub of the green. Despite this, at half time, we let the boys know how well they were playing, to keep going and the second half was their for the taking.
To their credit they did exactly what was asked and it was cruel that the only person in the postcode that didn't think it was a penalty was the person with the whistle. Continuing to play with a player down injured in the box was another decision we didn't agree with but the boys used it as fuel to push forward.
Unfortunately, you don't always get what you deserve in football but as long as they keep that effort and outlook going forward we'll be happy.
