Spence’sClear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose FC did lose as SuBo’s 2 Girls 1 Cup FC annihilated the tired and quiet opposition, taking a 5-0 lead at half time with some simple football that resulted in a number of counter-attacks and easy finishes beyond the helpless Rowan. To their credit, Can’t Lose FC battled harder in the second half producing a much more even affair (2-2), but the damage was already done thanks to a hustling solo performance up front from Pete and some quick support from SuBo, Fletch and (the still unbeaten) Daz, while Paul made some fine saves to further frustrate the losing team.

1-0: SuBo(a slick team move ended with Fletch squaring to SuBo, who tapped the ball through Rowan’s dive)

2-0: Pete(another quick team move ended with SuBo passing to Pete, who smashed the ball through Rowan’s legs)

3-0:Pete (Fletch robbed the ball off Phil and passed to Pete who finished into the far right corner)

4-0:Daz (a quick counter-attack ended with Pete playing the ball through to Daz, who stabbed the ball into the net)

5-0:Fletch (a rapid team move ended with Daz squaring to Fletch, who tapped the ball into the net)

Half Time

6-0:Daz (a counter-attack move ended with Pete squaring to Daz, who passed the ball into the top right corner)

7-0:Pete (a slick team move ended with Daz playing the ball through to Pete, who stabbed the ball into the net)

7-1:Spence (a long hoof to Spence from Rowan put Paul under pressure, with the loose ball bouncing off Spence’s shin towards goal, who chased it down and slid it home from a tight angle)

7-2: Patto (a long pass from Rowan found Patto on his own, and with Spence’s late run distracting one defender, Patto turned Griffin and hit a clean strike into the top right corner)

Men of the Match were Pete, who “rarely gave the ball away and [produced an] energetic performance given his 120 mins the day before”, and Patto, although it was a “difficult one to give, but it goes to him for a good strike for his goal.”
